لَاثَI , Present.T يَلُوثُ, Verbal.Noun لَوْثٌ, He folded a thing: and twisted it. These are the original meanings.
2 He turned a thing round twice; as a turban is turned round, and an إِزَار.
3 He bound, or wound round, a turban. You say لَاثَ العَمِامَةَ عَلَى رَأْسِهِ, Present.T and Verbal.Noun as above, He bound, or wound round, the turban on his head.
4 لَاثَ الوَبَرَ بِالفَلْكَةِ He wound the camel's hair round the whirl of the spindle.
5 الأَسْقِيَةُ الِتَّى تُلَاثُ عَلَى أَفْوَاهِهَا The skins that are bound and tied round their mouths.
6 لَاثَ, Present.T يَلُوثُ, He went round about; syn. دَارَ.
7 لَاثَ بِشَىْءٍ He went round about a thing; syn. طاف به.
8 لَاثَ بِهِ النَّاسُ, and , The people collected around him.

17 لَاثَ لَوْثًا مِنَ الكَلَامِ He twisted his speech, and did not make it plain by reason of shame. [Similarly, التاث فى كَلَامِهِ. ]
18 لَاثَ He was slow in speech, and heavy in tongue.
