Full Definition

مُتَحَيِّزًا , in the Kur [viii. 16], signifies Or turning aside to a different company of the Muslims: or the meaning is, or separating themselves from others to betake themselves to [a different company of] those engaged in fighting. The original form of مُتَحَيِّزٌ is مُتَحَيْوِزٌ.
