Full Definition

مَثْعَلَةٌ A land in which are many ثَعَالِب [or foxes]; like مَعْقَرَةٌ meaning “ a land in which are many عَقَارِب [or scorpions]; ” as also مُثَعْلِبَةٌ. (K in art. ثعلب. [But see this last word.])
