Full Definition

مَجَّاجَةٌ The ear is wont to reject instruction, through forgetfulness, while the mind has eager desire to listen thereto, is said in a trad. And in another trad., لِلْأُذُنِ وَلِلنَّفْسِ حَمْضَةٌ [meaning the same]. (TA., art. حمض.) [See also حَمْضَةٌ.]
