مَحْضُورٌ

Full Definition

مَحْضُورٌ [pass. part. n. of حَضَرَهُ]. [Hence,] اللَّبَنُ مَحْضُورٌ, and مُحْتَضَرٌ , فَغَطِّ إِنَآءَكَ, Milk is much subject to taint, or much tainted; [lit.] come to [and tainted; i. e.,] by the jinn, or genii, and beasts, &c.; [therefore cover thou thy vessel.] And الكُنُفُ مَحْضُورَةٌ [Privies are haunted by jinn, or genii]. It is said in a trad., إِنَّ هٰذِهِ الحُشُوشَ [Verily these privies are haunted by jinn]. And in another trad., إِنَّهَا مَشْهُودَةٌ مَحْضُورَةٌ Verily it is attended by the angels of the night and the day.
2 Also, and مُحْتَضَرٌ , At the point of death; in the agony of death: [visited by death; or by the angel, or angels, of death: ] or the latter, near to death.
