2 [Also A cause of fear: a word of the same category as مَجْبَنَةٌ and مَبْخَلَةٌ &c.: pl. مَخَاوِفُ. Hence,] أَوَّلُ كُتُبِهِ المَخَاوِفُ [The first of his letters, or epistles, consisted of the causes of fear].
3 And مَخَاوِفُ also signifies Places of fear.
