مَرَبٌّ

Full Definition

مَرَبٌّ A place of collecting of people: a place of alighting: a place of abiding, or dwelling, and congregating. [Hence,] مَرَبُّ الإِبِلِ The place where the camels keep, or remain.
2 [Hence also,] فُلَانٌ مَرَبٌّ Such a one is a person who collects, or congregates, people. [And hence,] فُلَانٌ مَرَبٌّ لِبَنِى فُلَانٍ Such a one is an object of resort for his counsel and authority to the sons of such a one. (TA in art. جمع.)

def.2 Also, and مِرْبَابٌ , Land abounding with plants, or herbage; or with رِبَّة [q. v.]: or land in which there ceases not to be moisture; and so مَرَبَّةٌ : or signifies land abounding with plants, or herbage, and with people.
