مَرْكَزٌ

Full Definition

مَرْكَزٌ A place where a spear or other thing is stuck, or fixed, into the ground, upright: a place of firmness, or fixedness.
2 The place of a man; his place of alighting or abiding.
3 The station of an army, or of a body of troops or soldiers, to which its occupants are commanded to keep. You say, هٰذَا مَرْكَزُ الخَيْلِ [This is the fixed station of the cavalry]. Pl. مَرَاكِزُ.
4 The centre of a circle.
5 رَكِيزَةٌ signifies the same as مَرْكَزٌ [but in what sense I do not find pointed out].
