مِرْكَضَةٌ A mare that beats the ground with her legs when she runs.

3 Also A certain part of a bow; well known; one of [the two parts called] its مِرْكَضَتَانِ; or : each of the two curved extremities thereof; as also مِرْكَضٌ : or the side thereof: pl. مَرَاكِضُ.
