مُسَافِرٌ A man journeying, or travelling; a traveller; a wayfarer; as also سَافِرٌ ; which latter is [said to be] not a part. n., but [a possessive epithet] meaning ذُو سَفَرٍ, having no verb belonging to it that we have seen; or it is from سَفَرَ, and signifies going forth on a journey: pl. of the former مُسَافِرُونَ, and of the latter سُفَّارٌ and أَسْفَارٌ and سُفَّرٌ; and you also say قَوْمٌ [fem. of سَافِرٌ], and قَوْمٌ سَفْرٌ , [سَفْرٌ being a quasi-pl. n.,] like صَحْبٌ in relation to صَاحِبْ: and سَفْرٌ is also used as a sing., being originally an Verbal.Noun
