Full Definition

مَشْهَدٌ A place where people are present or assembled; a place of assembling; an assembly; as also مَشْهَدَةٌ and and شَهَادَةٌ : pl. مَشَاهِدُ. [Hence,] مَشَاهِدُ مَكَّةَ The places of religious visitation, where the ceremonies of the pilgrimage &c. are performed, at Mekkeh.
2 [A funeral assembly or procession.
3 A place where a martyr has died or is buried.
4 And The aspect, or outward appearance, of a person; like مَرْأًى: see an instance voce عَوْدٌ.]
