Full Definition

مِقْدَحٌ [A couching-needle; called thus, and إِبْرَةُ , in the present day.
2 Also], and مِقْدَحَةٌ , and مِقْدَاحٌ , and قَدَّاحٌ , The thing of iron with which one strikes fire.
3 And the first, A ladle; as also مِقْدَحَةٌ . سَتَأْتِيكَ بِمَا فِى قَعْرَهَا [The ladle will bring to thee what is in the bottom thereof] is a prov., meaning, that to which thou art blind will become apparent, or manifest, to thee.
