Full Definition

مِقْيَاسٌ A measure, or thing with which anything is measured; syn. مِقْدَارٌ: pl. مَقَايِيسُ. You say, قَاسَهُ بِٱلْمِقْيَاسِ [He measured it with the measuring-instrument]. And قَصُرَ مِقْيَاسُكَ فِى مِقْيَاسِى Thy measure (مِثَالُكَ) fell short of my measure.
2 A probe with which the depth of a wound is measured.
3 مِقْيَاسُ النِّيلِ The Nilometer.
