Full Definition

مَكَّنَهُII He gave him a place: he assigned him a place, and settled, or established, him. You say also, مَكَّنَ لَهُ فِى مَنْزِلٍ [He assigned, or gave, him a place in an abode]. (S in art. بوأ.)
2 مَكَّنَهُ مِنْ شَىْءٍ, and , He made him to have mastery, or dominion, or ascendancy, or authority, and power, over a thing; put it in his power.
3 مَكَّنَهُ مِنَ الشَّىْءِ, and مِنْهُ, He empowered him, enabled him, or rendered him able, to do the thing: he enabled him to have the thing within his power. Ex. يَدَيْهِ مِنْ رُكْبَتَيْهِ He enabled his hands to take and grasp his knees. from a trad.
