Full Definition

مَنَّI , Present.T مَنُنَ Verbal.Noun مَنٌّ and مِنِّينَى; and ; He conferred, or bestowed, upon him, a favour, or benefit. You say, مَنَّ عَلَيْهِ شَيْأً, and بِشَىْءٍ, which latter is more common, and عليه بِهِ He conferred, or bestowed, a thing upon him as a favour.
2 مَنَّ عَلَيْهِ, Verbal.Noun مَنٌّ or مِنَّةٌ; and and ; He reproached him for a favour, or benefit, which he had conferred, or bestowed; he recounted his gifts or actions to him. Ex., عَلَيْهَا بِمَا مَهَرَهَا [He reproached her for the dowry he had given her]. (K, art. مهر.) See Bd, ii. 264. See also an ex. in a verse cited voce سَرِفَ.
