نَثِيرٌ , Pearls scattered, strewn, dispersed, or thrown dispersedly, with the hand. See also مُنْتَثِرٌ, and مُنَثَّرٌ. You say
كَأَنَّ لَفْظَهُ الدُّرُّ [As though his speech were scattered pearls].
