مَهَرَI , Present.T ـَ and ـُ Verbal.Noun مَهْرٌ, He gave the woman a مَهْر [or dowry]: or he assigned to her (جَعَلَ لَهَا) a مَهْر: and signifies the same as مَهَرَهَا, which is of the dial. of Temeem, and the more usual: or مَهَرَهَا has the first of the above significations, or signifies he set apart for her a مَهْر: and signifies he named for her a مَهْر and married her to himself for it; or he married her to another man for a certain مَهْر; or he sent for her a مَهْر.
