مَوْعُودٌ and مَوْعُودَةٌ: see 1, and وَعْدٌ
2 اليَوْمُ الموعود [The promised day; meaning] the day of resurrection.
3 مَعْهُودٌ وَمَشْهُودٌ وَمَوْعُودٌ Past and present and future: the tenses of a verb. (Kh, in L, art. عهد.)
4 مَوْعُودٌ is one of the inf. ns. which have pls. governing as verbs; its pl. being مَوَاعِيدُ. Ex. مَوَاعِيدَ عُرْقوب أَخَاهُ بِيَثْرِبَ [As 'Orkoob's promisings of his brother in Yethrib.] See عُرْقُوبٌ.
