Full Definition

نِصَابٌ The place of sun-set; مَغِيبُ الشَّمْسِ; the place to which it returns.

3 نِصَابٌ The handle of a knife; in which the سِيلَان is set: pl. نُصُبٌ.
4 نِصَابٌ, of property, The amount which renders it incumbent on the possessor to pay the alms, or tax, called الزَّكَاة: as two hundred dirhems, or five camels, [or twenty deenárs, or forty sheep or goats. ] So called as being the “ source ” whence the tax comes.
