Full Definition

هَضَّهُI , Present.T هَضُضَ Verbal.Noun هَضٌّ, He broke it; as also ; and هَضْهَضَهُ ; Verbal.Noun هَضْهَضَةٌ. and the first, or ↓ all, he bruised, brayed, pounded, or crushed, it; i. q. رَضَّهُ; i. e. a stone, &c.: or he broke it in a manner falling short of what is termed هَدٌّ, [in the CK, incorrectly حَدّ,] but exceeding what is termed رَضٌّ: or, accord. to some, the first, he broke it leisurely, or gently: and the ↓ last, he broke it hastily. You say, الفَحْلُ يَهُضُّ أَعْنَاقَ الفُحُولِ The stallion breaks, or crushes, the necks of the [other] stallions; as also . And الإِبِلُ يَهُضُّ الأَرْضَ The camels bruise the ground.
2 Also, هَضَّتِ الإِبِلُ The camels hastened, or went quickly. And جَآءَتِ الإِبِلُ تَهُضُّ السَّيْرَ, Verbal.Noun as above, The camels came hastening, or quickly. And جَآءَ فُلَانٌ يَهُضُّ المَشْىَ, and يَهُزُّهُ, Such a one came walking impulsively: or with a graceful gait, impulsively.
