هَلِبَI , Present.T ـَ Verbal.Noun هَلَبٌ, He had much hair [of the kind termed هُلْب]; was very hairy.
2 هَلَبَ ذَنَبَ الفَرَسِ, and هَلَبَ الفَرَسَ, Present.T ـُ Verbal.Noun هَلْبٌ, He shore the tail of the horse: shore it, or cut it off, utterly. هَلَبَهُ; and هلّبه , Verbal.Noun تَهْلِيبٌ; He plucked from him his هُلْب [or coarse hair, of the tail &c.].
3 هُلِبَ It was entirely cut off.

def.2 هَلَبَهُمْ بِلِسَانِهِ, Present.T ـِ; and هلّبهم , (Verbal.Noun تَهْلِيبٌ, TA;) He satirized and reviled them: he carped at them severely with his tongue.
