وَثِيرٌ

Full Definition

وَثِيرٌ Plain, level, smooth, soft, or easy to lie or ride or walk upon; as also وِثْرٌ and وَثْرٌ and وَثِرٌ ; applied to a bed, and anything upon which one sleeps, or sits, and finds it to be thus, and to other things: and thick and soft; applied to a bed: [and وِثَارٌ seems to signify the same; or this and وَثْرٌ are epithets in which the quality of a subst. predominates:] fem. وَثِيرَةٌ. You say, مَا تَحْتَهُ وِثْرٌ, and وِثَارٌ, There is not beneath him a smooth, or soft, bed.
2 وَثِيرَةٌ A woman having much flesh: or fat; suitable for a bedfellow: and وَثِيرَةُ العَجُزِ large, or fat, or soft, in the buttocks: pl. وَثَائِرُ and وِثَارٌ.
