وجٌّ A kind of medicine; certain twigs, or rods, with which one fumigates; or which are used medicinally or remedially; [acorum, or acorus; sweet-cane, or, as some say, galangal: see Diosc., I. i., c. 2., referred to by Golius:] thought by ElJawáleekee to be not pure Arabic; i. e., an arabicized word, from the Persian [وَجْ]: so says J.
