Full Definition

وَطَائِدُ The foundations, or bases, or the columns, (قَوَاعِد,) of a building: the columns (أَسَاطِين) of a mosque.
2 فُلَانٌ مِنْ وَطَائِدِ الإِسْلَامِ [Such a person is one of the columns of el-Islám.]
3 وَطَائِدُ The supports called أَثَافِىّ of a cooking-pot: app. pl. of وَطِيدَةٌ.
