وَظَبَI
, (Present.T يَظِبُ, K,) Verbal.Noun وُظُوبٌ, (and وَظْبٌ, Msb,) He continued, to do a thing; persevered in it: or, (as also وَظَبَهُ, Present.T and Verbal.Noun as above, TA,) i. q.
, [which is the more common,] Verbal.Noun مُوَاظَبَهٌ, he kept, attended, or applied himself, constantly, perseveringly, or assiduously, to a
thing; he was, or became, intent upon it;
is said to be sometimes trans. without a preposition, like لَازَمَ; but Es-Saad denies this.
2 وُظِبَتِ الرَّوْضَةُ The meadow was incessantly pastured on, [so that it became destitute of herbage]. See the pass. part. n.
