وَمْضَةٌ [A slight flash of lightning, &c.] You say, شِمْتُ وَمْضَةَ بَرْقٍ كَنَبْضَةِ عِرْقٍ [I looked at a slight flash of lightning, like a single pulsation of an artery, to see whither it tended, and where it might rain].
