أَحْوَجَIV : see 1.

def.2 It is also transitive. You say, أَحْوَجَهُ إِلَيْهِ غَيْرُهُ [Another made him to want, or be in need of, him, or it]. And أَحْوَجَنِى إِلَيْكُمْ زَمَانُ السُّوْءِ [Evil time, or evil fortune, made me to be in need of thee]. And لَا أَحْوَجَنِى ٱللّٰهُ إِلَى فُلَانٍ [May God not cause me to want such a one]. And أُحْوِجْتُ إِلَيْهِ [I was caused to want him, or it]. And أَحْوَجَهُ ٱللّٰهُ إِلَى كَذَا [God caused him to want such a thing].
