Full Definition

اختضرVIII He cut herbage, or a tree, while it was green; as also , Present.T ـُ Verbal.Noun خَضْرٌ. And اُخْتُضِرَ It was taken, and pastured upon, while fresh and juicy, and green, before it had attained its full height. See also 9, last sentence.
2 Hence, the pass. form, He died in his youth; in his fresh and flourishing state. Young men used to say to an old man, أَجْزَرْتُ يَا شَيْخُ [Thou hast attained to the time for dying, O old man]: and he replied, أَىْ بَنِىَّ وَتُخْتَضَرُونَ [O my sons, and ye shall be cut off, or die, in your youth]. (S. [See also أَجْزَرَ.])
3 Also, the act. v., He cut off the green branches of a palm-tree with his مِخْلَب; and so , Present.T ـُ Verbal.Noun خَضْرٌ: and he cut off a thing, as a man's nose, entirely: or, simply, he cut off a man's nose.
4 And He ate fruit [while it was green, or] before it was ripe.
5 And hence, He deflowered a girl: or, before she had attained to puberty; (Msb in art. قض, and K;) as also اِبْتَسَرَ and اِبْتَكَرَ.
6 Also He took a camel in a refractory state, not trained, and attached the nose-rein to him, and drove him.
7 And He took up a load, or burden.
