Full Definition

اصطبغVIII It was, or became, dyed, or coloured, with such a thing.
2 And اصطبغ بِالصِّبْغِ, or بِالخَلِّ, and the like, and, as some say, مِنَ الخَلِّ, or فِى الخَلِّ, He made use of what is termed صِبْغ [or sauce, & c.], or vinegar, to render his bread savoury; الصِّبْغ including olive-oil, as well as vinegar, and similar seasonings. One may not say, اصطبغ الخُبْزَ بِخَلٍّ.
3 اصطبغ also signifies He made, or prepared, what is termed صِبْغ [i. e. sauce, & c.].
