اعتزىVIII and لَهُ He asserted his [own] relationship [of son] to him: [you say, اعتزى إِلَى فُلَانٍ and لِفُلَانٍ He asserted his relationship of son to such a one:] and so تعزّى , and . It is said in a trad., مَنْ الجَاهِلِيَّةِ فَأَعِضُّوهُ بِهَنِ أَبِيهِ وَلَا تَكْنُوا [expl. in art. عض: see 4 in that art.]. See also art. عزى.
