انثنىVII , and تثنّى , and , of the measure اِفْتَعَلَ, originally اِثْتَنَى, and , of the measure اِفْعَوْعَلَ, It was, or became, doubled, or folded; it had one part turned upon another; it was, or became, bent.
2 [Hence,] انثنى signifies also He turned, or turned away or back, عَنْ أَمْرٍ from an affair, after having determined to do it. (Lth in TA art. زمع.)
