تروّحV
[He fanned himself]. And تروّح بِمِرْوَحَةٍ [He fanned himself with a fan]. رَأَيْتُهُمْ يَتَرَوَّحُونَ فِى الضُّحَى, occurring in a trad., means I saw them requiring the being fanned with the fan (التَّرْوِيح بِالمِرْوَحَة) by reason of the heat [in the morning after sunrise]: or it may mean returning to their tents or houses: or seeking rest.
2 تروّحت الرَّائِحَةُ The odour exhaled, or diffused itself.
3 تروّح said of water, It acquired the odour of another thing by reason of its nearness thereto. See also 4.
