تزاهدوهُVI They contemned, or despised, him, or it. It is said in a trad., of wine-drinkers, تزاهدوا الحَدَّ, i. e. they contemned the حَدّ [or prescribed castigation]; held it in little, or mean, estimation; regarded it as a small thing. [See also what next follows.]
