جَلَّفَتْهُII The years of drought, or barrenness, or dearth, destroyed his cattle. And جَلَّفَتْ كَحْلُ, or كَحْلٌ, The year of drought, or barrenness, or dearth, exterminated the cattle. And أَمْوَالَهُمْ [It destroyed their cattle] is also said of a year of great drought, or barrenness, or dearth. And الدَّهْرُ Time, or fortune, or misfortune, destroyed his property, or cattle.
