Full Definition

خِرْقَةٌ A piece, or piece torn off, of a garment, or of cloth; [a rag;] pl. خِرَقٌ.
2 [A ragged, patched, garment: and particularly one worn by a devotee; also called مُرَقَّعَةٌ, q. v.: but this is probably postclassical. Hence, أَصْحَابُ الخِرَقِ The devotees.]
3 A portion of a swarm of locusts, less than a رِجْل; as also حِزْقَةٌ.
