2 Also Seeds that are used in cooking, for seasoning food, bruised, or brayed, and what are mixed therewith; such as are termed قَزْح, and the like: all such seeds of the cooking-pot are called دُقَّة by the people of Mekkeh: and salt with such seeds mixed therewith: this is the application now commonly obtaining: or salt alone: or salt bruised, or brayed: whence the saying, مَا لَهُ دُقَّةٌ He has not salt.

4 Also A certain ornament (حَلْىٌ) of the people of Mekkeh.
5 And The small, or young, (حَشْو,) of camels.
