Full Definition

سَبْتَآءُ A [desert such as is termed] صَحْرَآء: or أَرْضٌ سَبْتَآءُ is like صَحْرَآءُ: or a land in which are no trees: and i. q. [i. e. a bare land; as though shorn of its herbage]: pl. سَبَاتِىُّ.
2 Also, [in like manner] a fem. epithet, Having spreading, or expanded, ears, whether long or short.
