طَامَّةٌ

Full Definition

طَامَّةٌ A calamity that predominates over others: or simply a calamity. It is said in a trad. of Aboo-Bekr En-Nessábeh, مَا مِنْ طَامَّةٍ إِلَّا وَفَوْقَهَا طَامَّةٌ i. e. There is no calamity but above it is a calamity.
2 And A great, or formidable, thing; as also طَامٌّ .
3 And A cry, or vehement cry, that overcomes everything.
4 And الطَّامَّةُ signifies The resurrection: so called because it surpasses, or predominates over, everything: and also called الطَّامَّةُ الكُبْرَى.
