Full Definition

عَاجِلٌ : see عَجِلٌ. [Also Fleeting; quickly transitory.]
2 And Present; ready; not delayed; [applied to a price, hire, payment, or the like;] contr. of آجِلٌ; as applied to anything. عَاجِلٌ بِعَاجِلٍ [Ready merchandise with ready money] is like نَاجِزٌ بِنَاجِزٍ, and يَدٌ بِيَدٍ. (TA in art. نجز.)
3 And hence, [or because fleeting, or quickly transitory,] العَاجِلَةُ signifies The present hour or time: and the present dwelling, abode, world, life, or state of existence: contr. of الآجِلَةُ, in relation to anything.
