, Verbal.Noun تَفْنِيدٌ, He pronounced him to be a liar, an utterer of falsehood, or a sayer of what was untrue.

3 He blamed him, and pronounced his judgment to be weak: or he pronounced him, or it, i. e. his judgment, to be weak. And He pronounced him to be impotent, or lacking in ability.
def.2 فنّد فَرَسًا He acquired, or got for himself, a horse: so says Hároon Ibn-'Abd-Allah, as mentioned by Sh: but I know it not in this sense: thus in the T: or [rather] he took him for the purpose of tying him, or keeping post, on the enemy's frontier, and as a refuge to which to have recourse when suddenly attacked by the enemy; from فِنْدٌ, signifying “ a شِمْرَاخ, ” or “ a great شمراخ, ” “ of a mountain, ” or as signifying “ a great mountain: ” or i. q. ضَمَّرَهُ [as meaning he made him light of flesh for military service], so as to be like the branch of a tree, termed فِنْد.
def.3 فنّد فُلَانًا عَلَى الأَمْرِ He desired, of such a one, [the performance of] the affair; as also , (O, K, TA, in the O فِى الأَمْرِ,) Verbal.Noun مُفَانَدَةٌ; and تفنّدهُ .
