Full Definition

مُثْكِلٌ A woman whose state of bereavement is constant: or who is in a state of bereavement: pl. مَثَاكِيلُ [or this is pl. of مِثْكَالٌ]. Hence, نِسَآءُ الغُزَاةِ مَثَاكِيلُ [The wives of the warriors are constantly bereft, or often bereft, of their husbands].
