مَحَزٌّ

Full Definition

مَحَزٌّ A place of cutting [or notching]. You say, قَطَعَ فَأَصَابَ المَحَزَّ He cut, and hit the place of cutting. And تَكَلَّمَ وَأَشَارَ فَأَصَابَ المَخَزَّ [He spoke, and indicated, or advised, and hit upon the right thing]: [app. alluding to the right place of incision of the كِرْكِرَة, which is a nice and difficult operation: see كِرْكِرَةٌ.]
2 [A notched, or small hollowed, place, made by cutting or otherwise.
3 A groove, or the like. Occurring in the K, voce بَكْرَةٌ, and in art. خصر, &c.]
