ثَارَI , Present.T يَثُورُ, Verbal.Noun ثَوْرٌ and ثُؤُورٌ and ثَوَرَانٌ, It became raised, roused, excited, stirred up, or provoked; syn. هَاجَ; syn. of the Verbal.Noun هَيَجَانٌ: as also تثوّر .
2 Said of dust, and of smoke, and of other things, Verbal.Noun ثَوْرٌ and ثُؤُورٌ and ثَوَرَانٌ, It became raised, or stirred up; and spread: or rose, and appeared; as also تثوّر : also said of the redness in the sky after sunset, Verbal.Noun ثَوْرٌ and ثَوَرَانٌ, it spread upon the horizon, and rose: (TA: [see ثَوْرٌ:]) and ثار, said of anything, means it appeared and spread.
3 Said of a camel lying upon his breast, He became roused, or put in motion or action; as also تثوّر .
4 Said of the bird called القَطّا, inf. ns. as first mentioned above, or ثَوْرٌ and ثَوَرَانٌ, It rose from the place where it lay; as also تثوّر : and of a swarm of locusts, it rose; as also تثوّر : or appeared; as also .
5 Also, inf. ns. as first mentioned above, He leaped, or sprang; as also تثوّر . You say, ثار إِلَيْهِ He leaped, or sprang, to, or towards, him, or it. And ثاربِهِ النَّاسُ The people leaped, or sprang, upon him. And ثار إِلَى الشَّرِّ He rose, or hastened, to do evil, or mischief.
6 ثار المَآءُ The water flowed forth with force; gushed forth.
7 ثار بِهِ الدَّمُ, inf. ns. as first mentioned above, The blood appeared in him; as also تثوّر . And ثار الدَّمُ فِى وَجْهَهِ The blood appeared in [or mantled in or mounted into] his face; as also .
8 ثارت بِهِ الحَصْبَةُ, Verbal.Noun ثَوْرٌ and ثُؤُورٌ and ثَوَارٌ [or ثُوَارٌ?] and ثَوَرَانٌ, The measles spread [or broke out] in him: and in like manner one says of anything that appears: one says, ثار, Verbal.Noun ثَوْرٌ and ثَوَرَانٌ, meaning it appeared. And accord. to Lh, one says, ثار الرَّجُلُ, Verbal.Noun ثَوَرَانٌ, meaning The man had the measles appearing in him.
9 ثار بِالمَحْمُومِ الثَّوْرُ Pimples, or small pustules, breaking out in the mouth, appeared in the fevered man.
10 ثارت الحُمَّى [The fever rose, or became excited].
11 ثارت نَفْسُهُ His soul [or stomach] heaved; or became agitated by a tendency to vomit; syn. جَشَأَتٌ, i. e. اِرْتَفَعَتْ; or جَاشَتْ, i. e. فَارَتٌ.
12 ثار الغَضَبُ, Verbal.Noun ثَوْرٌ, [Anger became roused, or excited, or inflamed: or became roused, or excited in the utmost degree: or boiled: or spread: (see ثَائرٌ, below:) or] became sharp.
13 ثارت بَيْنَهُمْ فِتْنَةٌ وَشَرٌّ Discord, or dissension, or the like, and evil, or mischief, became excited among them, or between them.
