غَرِيضٌ

Full Definition

غَرِيضٌ A thing that is fresh, juicy, moist, or not flaccid: also applied to flesh-meat. [See also 1, in three places, in the latter half of the paragraph.]
2 Fresh, or juicy, dates.
3 Rain-water; as also مَغْرُوضٌ : because of its freshness.
4 Water to which one comes early in the morning; in the first part of the day.
5 See also إِغْرِيضٌ, in two places.
6 Also Any new, or novel, song.
7 And hence, A singer; because of his performing new, or novel, singing: or a singer who performs well, and is of those who are well known; and so called because of his gentleness, or softness.
