أُسْبُوبَةٌ [like أُهْجُوَّةٌ, contr. of أُمْدُوحَةٌ,] A thing [meaning reviling speech] with which persons revile one another: pl. أَسَابِيبُ. Using it in this sense, one says, بَيْنَهُمْ أُسْبُوبَةٌ يَتَسَابُّونَ بِهَا [Between them is reviling speech] with which they revile one another.
