Full Definition

أَمْدَدَIV See 1 throughout.
2 امدّ فِيهِ He made it ample: made it abundant: increased it, namely, a sea or river.
3 امدّهُ He made it to become full, and to rise. See also 1.
4 امدّ, Verbal.Noun إِمْدَادٌ, He aided, or succoured: and he gave. See مَدَّ القَوْمَ.
5 امدّ فِى مِشْيَتِهِ He walked with an elegant, and a proud, and self-conceited, gait, with an affected incline of his body from side to side. See also 5.
6 امدّ (Verbal.Noun إِمْدَادٌ, L, &c.) It produced مِدَة, or thick purulent matter.
7 امدّ (Verbal.Noun إِمْدَادٌ, K) It (the plant called عَرْفَج, S, L, K, and the صِلِّيَان, and the طَرِيفَة, TA) became succulent, the sap running in it: and it, being rained upon became soft, or supple.
