ثَنِىٌّ
Shedding his tooth called the
ثَنِيَّة [q. v.]: or that has shed the tooth so called: applied to a camel &c., as follows: or, as some say, to any animal that has shed that tooth, except man: fem. with ة: a camel in the sixth year; the least age at which he may be sacrificed: and a horse in the fourth year; or in the third year: and a cloven-hoofed animal, or a sheep or goat and an animal of the bovine kind, [respecting which last see عَضْبٌ,] in the third year: or a sheep and a goat, the latter accord. to the persuasion of Ahmad [Ibn-Hambal], in the second year: and a gazelle after the age at which he is termed

رَبَاعٍ: pl. ثُنْيَانٌ and ثِنَآءٌ and ثُنَآءٌ, and, accord. to Sb, ثُنٍ; and pl. fem. ثَنِيَّاتٌ.
