حَرِيرٌ

Full Definition

حَرِيرٌ Heated by wrath &c.; as also مَحْرُورٌ : fem. of each with ة; the former being with ة because it is syn. with حَزِينَةٌ [afflicted with grief or sorrow]: or حَرِيرَةٌ signifies affected with grief or sorrow, and having the liver burned [thereby]: or heated in the bosom: and its pl. is حَرِيرَاتٌ.

def.2 Silk; syn. إِبْرِيسَمٌ: or dressed silk; syn. ابريسم مَطْبُوخٌ: and a garment, or stuff, made thereof: or stuff wholly composed of silk: or of which the woof is silk: n. un. with ة; meaning one of the garments, or pieces of stuff, called حَرِيرٌ.
