حِيَرٌ and حَيَرٌ Much property, or many cattle; and a numerous family: and أَنْعَامٌ حِيَرَاتٌ many cattle. كَانَ حِيَرًا [app. for كان ذَا حِيَرٍ] is expl. by Th as meaning He was a possessor of much property, and of a numerous household and family.
