خَذِمٌ

Full Definition

خَذِمٌ A cutting, or sharp, sword; as also خَذُومٌ and مِخْذَمٌ ; the last erroneously said in the K to be like مُعَظَّمٌ. One of the swords of Mo- hammad was named : it was formerly the sword of El-Hárith El-Ghassánee.
2 A garment, or piece of cloth, altogether, or wholly, old and worn out. [And in like manner, accord. to Freytag , خَذُومٌ , applied to a scabbard of a sword, Lacerated and worn by use.]
3 Quick, or swift of pace, applied to a horse; and so خَذُومٌ , applied to an ostrich.
4 [And hence.] A man liberal, or bountiful, in giving; pleased, content, or willing, to be liberal or bountiful; plenteous in gifts: pl. خَذِمُونَ: it has no broken pl.
